Eastwind Import is an online shop based in California, USA, that specializes on jazz and classical CDs imported from Japan and Europe. If you are a serious jazz/classical music fan, you may already know that there are excellent independent labels around the world. They offer new recordings and rare reissues of great international artists with superb production values.

Many of the CDs are only marketed in Japan or Europe, so it is hard to find them in other countries. That's where we come in. Our mission is to make these wonderful CDs and SACDs available to jazz connoiseurs all over the world!

Another important aspect of Eastwind Import is its audiophile focus. The owner and proprietor, Hajime Sato, is a serious audiophile. Using his ears, he selects CDs, SACDs and XRCDs that offer exceptional sound quality. If you are an audiophile, Eastwind Import is a great resource for great-sounding jazz and classical discs!

You may not have heard of all the musicians in our catalog, but don't worry! Read about them in our product descriptions, artist profiles and listen to sample audio files before you buy. We hope you enjoy the shopping experience with us as well as the excellent products we offer.


Availability of each product is clearly indicated in its Product Details page. Basically, a product is ready to ship immediately unless it is marked as "temporarily out of stock." If you can order something at Eastwind Import, that means we have it in stock!

In rare instances when many orders are placed on low stock items, we might not be able to fulfill an order. (This hasn't happened yet.) In that unlikely event, we will immediately notify you by email. You will have a choice of waiting for a new shipment (usually 2-4 weeks) or requesting an immediate refund.

Communication & Shipping Policies

Our online shop is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When we do close our store, it will be noted clearly on the website. When we receive an order, we send you a confirmation email right away, usually within 24 hours, and notify you when the product will be shipped, and when you can expect to receive them.

We ship your in-stock products within 2 business days of receiving the order. For domestic (US) shipping, we use United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class mail or Priority Mail, depending on the size and weight of the package. For international orders, we use USPS Airmail or Priority mail.

Special Orders

For a special order, please do NOT use the shopping cart, and call us at 714-334-0759 (US Pacific Time) or email us first. If you want us to ship your order differently; for example via USPS Express Mail, FedEx, UPS, or with tracking and/or insurance, it is considered as a special order. Please call us or email us with your request, and we will send you a quote of price plus shipping costs and ask you to pay through PayPal or other means. Once we receive your payment, we will ship the products as requested.

If you want to purchase a CD that is NOT listed in our catalog, please call or email us. We will do our best to obtain the CD you want, and give you a quote of price plus shipping if the product is available. We may even decide to carry the CD as part of our regular stock, so please don't hesitate to tell us what you want!

We also welcome wholesale inquiry from retailers and make our products available at discount prices. If you want to carry any of our unique products, please do not hesitate to call or email us.

Reviewers and radio DJs! If you are interested in reviewing or playing our CD on air, we offer special industry accommodation pricing. Simply give us a call or send an email for details.

AUDIO GEAR 30-day Satisfaction Guarantee Policy

The Audio Gear products* offered by Eastwind Import are backed by our 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with a product we will gladly issue a refund* for returns. Please notify us within 30-days of receipt to arrange for a return. Eastwind Import is an authorized dealer for all products we sell.

*Restrictions, Limitations & Exclusions:

  1. Returns are subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee.
  2. Conditions stated in the Return Policy (see below) must be met.
  3. The original shipping charges are non-refundable.
  4. The customer is responsible for return shipping/insurance fees.
  5. Bulk products, special orders, fluids, items with adhesive backings, are non-refundable.
  6. Prices are subject to change without notice.
  7. The Satisfaction Guarantee policy does not cover software (CD, LP, DVD).
Return Policy

Bulk products, special orders, fluids, and items with adhesive backing can not be returned and are non-refundable.

Software Returns
A music software product (CD or LP) is not returnable or refundable unless it is grossly defective and unplayable. We will not refund or exchange a software product for any other reason, including but not limited to damages to the jewel case or jacket, slight scratches or warps in a record.
If you find a software to be defective and unplayable, please contact us within 24-48 hours. Please repackage it in a safe manner and ship it back to us. Eastwind Import will cover the cost of such shipping and packaging. After the original product has been received and verified defective, we will send you a replacement product of the same title. If the same title is no longer available, we will issue a full refund.

Shipment Damage
If the product has been lost or damaged in shipment, you must report the loss or damage to the shipper and file a claim with the shipper. The Satisfaction Guarantee and this Return Policy do not cover loss or damages during transit.

Defective Products
If you believe that you have received a defective product please email us within 24-48 hours. If a product arrives defective and cannot be fixed with replacement parts, Eastwind Import will cover the cost of shipping it back to us. Please have the product repackaged with all accessories in the original packaging and send it back to us. We will not send out a replacement product until the original product has been received and verified defective. Allow up to 10 business days from receipt at Eastwind Import for processing.

Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Form
All returns must have a prior Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) before we can accept them. Please contact us before shipping any items back to us.

Process to return an Audio Gear product under our Satisfaction Guarantee policy
  1. The product MUST have been purchased within the last 30 days.
  2. The product must be in like new condition and packaged correctly with the original box, packaging, accessories, and manuals. Returns are subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee. Incomplete or improperly packaged products will be subject to additional restocking fee.
  3. Shipping charges for return shipments must be paid by the customer.
  4. Email us for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number . No returns will be accepted without an RMA Number.
  5. Clearly print the RMA Number on the return shipping label affixed to the outside of the package(s). Please do not deface the factory boxes by writing or marking on them. We cannot accept returns that are not in the original factory cartons. The best place for the RMA Number is to be clearly printed on the return address label.
  6. Include a brief description detailing why the product is being returned, along with the billing name and address.
  7. For your protection, we strongly recommend shipping the package(s) via insured USPS Priority Mail. Please retain your tracking number as Eastwind Import will not be held responsible for lost or damaged items. If the package arrives damaged or distressed it will be refused. You will then need to file a claim with the carrier to recover the insured amount of your package(s).
  8. Ship the package(s) to the address shown on the RMA form provided.
  9. Eastwind Import will process the return within 10 business days of receipt.
  10. Depending on the payment method, Eastwind Import will either refund the original purchasing credit card account number or issue you a refund check for the purchase price of your product minus restocking fees.
Privacy Policy

Your personal information (name, address, etc.) necessary for the transaction is safe with us. We will never disclose or provide this information to a third party. We may send our occasional Newsletter to your email address, but if you prefer not to receive such email and notify us as such, we will immediately remove your email address from our mailing list.
