Hard-to-find, rare reissue CD for a special low price!
This relatively unknown but great album features Sonny Stitt, who was arguably at his artistic peak in 1958, in a simple, one-horn quartet setting. Each song is only about three minutes long, and almost all solo spaces are reserved for the leader who plays both alto and tenor saxophones. This is a truly beautiful album where fans can appreciate the supreme art of saxophone playing.
As a side note, the bassist on this session is unknown. Some speculate that it might have been John Simmons, but there is no clear record of the session data to support it.
