Description:Introducing a new sensation from France! Thomas Enhco (b. 1988) began playing the violin at age 3, piano at 6, and studied classical music and jazz at the same time. He joined the band led by his stepfather and jazz violinist Didier Lockwood at age 9, and began playing at prestegious venues and jazz festivals. He has performed with Michael Brecker, Wynton Marsalis and Peter Erskine, among others, and released his first self-produced CD in 2005, the same year he enrolled in the Paris Conservatory.

The present CD marks Enhco's highly anticipated major debut, an inaugural release from the newly founded Blue In Green label in Japan. A sister label of Yasohachi Itoh's Eighty-Eight's, they employed similar practices to ensure superb sound quality. Enhco and his French trio peform eight standards and four of Enhco's original compositions. Enhco's older brother David joins him on three cuts on flugelhorn and trumpet.

Highlights of this delightful and amazing program include a lovely jazz rendition of the lovely "Scenes From Childhood" by Schumann, a careening 7/8 arrangement of "Yesterdays," a romantic and lyrical "I Fall in Love Too Easily" with David's flugelhorn, and a fearlessly driving "You and the Night and the Music." Thomas Enhco is a major new talent. He has incredible chops built on strong classical training, creative flare and imagination, and most importantly, he can swing hard while maintaining a certain degree of European elegance and lyricism.

The sound quality of this CD is wonderful, too! The pure DSD-recording and the specail CD formulation, employing green label coating and silver spattering (using a special silver alloy instead of aluminum for the reflective layer) result in clean and prestine piano tones, a wider dynamic range and three-dimensional soundstage. This is one of the most enjoyable piano trio CDs I've heard this year!

Produced by Yasohachi "88" Itoh. Recorded January 20 and 21, 2009, in Paris. Mixed and mastered at Sony Music Studios, Tokyo.
