Description:Trio/Kenwood Jazz Masterpiece Reissue Series!

Like Dee Dee Bridgewater's Afro Blue, Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra's Live In Tokyo and Rolland Hanna & George Mraz's 1 x 1, this album is a memorable "souvenir" recording by the members of the Jones-Lewis Orchestra made during their extensive Japan tour in 1974.

The idea to record this album, featuring trumpeter Jon Faddis and tenor saxopphonist Billy Harper, came from pianist Roland Hanna. The combination of Faddis, who was young but conservative in terms of style, and Harper, characterized by his emotional performance underscored by his free jazz experiences, was an unexpected one, but it produced fascinating results on many levels.

Recorded at Teichiku Studios, Tokyo, on March 13, 1974. Produced by Kuriya Inaoka and Kazuo Harada.
