Supporting Bosso are his long-time bandmates Luca Mannutza, Luca Bulgarelli and Lorenzo Tucci, as well as a new member, veteran guitarist Roberto Cecchetto.
Consisting mainly of Bosso's intriguing originals (Cecchetto also contributes one tune), the wide-ranging program also includes fascinating interpretations of jazz classics. Wayne Shorter's "Footprints" is rendered with a skipping R&B rhythm and a harmonizing effect on the trumpet, and Bosso uses echo effects on John Coltrane's "Impressions" to give it a surreal spaceyness.
The listener will be fascinated by the collective creativity of this hot Italian group and the amazing, exhilarating solos by the star trumpeter. Recommended!
