Hard-to-find, rare reissue CD for a special low price!

This rare album, originally released by Liberty, features fantastic, "east meets west" sessions. As the jacket indicates, Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse All Stars hosted Charlie Persip and his Jazz Statemen, the latter being the members of the Dizzy Gillespie band who were touring at the time.

They jammed at Lighthouse and the result was so exciting that they decided to go into a studio and record together. The collective personnel of these dream sessions includes Lee Morgan, Benny Golson, Wynton Kelly and Charlie Persip from the East Coast, and Conte Candoli, Frank Rosolino, Bob Cooper, Red Mitchell and Stan Levey from the West.

Recorded in Hollywood, February 14 and 27, 1957. Mono.
