Tiffany is a talented young singer who hails from Los Angeles and now lives and sings in Japan. She was discovered by the Eighty-Eight's producer Yasohachi Itoh in 2006, and since then has released four albums from the label.
Her latest album, recorded in pure DSD and presented in a fabulous-sounding hybrid SACD, is a rare two-disc 2-disc Hybrid SACD set featuring jazz standards (the "Ruby" disc) and popular songs (the "Sapphire" disc).
Supporting her this time around are two different bands consisting of top Japanese musicians as well as some expatriates based in Japan and a few guests. Notably among them are pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto, bassist Yosuke Inoue, drummers Jimmy Smith and saxophonist Raymond McMorrin who appeared on the last recording by Hank Jones. This is a great-sounding, and musically very satisfying vocal album. Recommended for fans of vocal jazz and audiophiles!
Produced by Yasohachi "88" Itoh. Recorded and mixed at Sony Music Studios Tokyo in August, 2010. Contains two hybrid SACDs derived of pure DSD recording, each containing an SACD stereo layer and a CD stereo layer. They are compatible with all regular CD players.
