Description:A stunning discovery of unreleased material!

Dutch singer Ann Burton (1933-1989) was a national star in her homeland and remains very popular in Japan. Third in the NISV Archives series, this very special CD span more than two decades of her career. A collection of never-before-released materials, it begins with her first radio broadcast recording in 1966 and ends with her last in 1988. Tapes were discovered in the archives of Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, and meticulously digitized for this historic release.

Ann Burton charms us with her smokey voice and relaxed, almost conversational approach. The delivery is honest and without pretention. She is backed by a variety of great Dutch jazz musicians, including Herman Schoonderwalt, Pim Jacobs, and the famous Metropole Orchestra led by Rob Pronk. Recommended to jazz vocal fans and a must-have item for fans of Ann Burton!

Recorded 1966-1988.
