Radka Toneff (1952-1982) was a Norwegian singer who, with her fragile, pure voice, sang beatifully with an interesting mix of pop, rock, folk and jazz sensibilities.
Fairytales is her third and last album, recorded just eight months before her untimely passing. Toneff and her sole collaborator, the superb pianist Steve Robrogosz, created a beautiful album that is starkly beautiful and profoundly moving.
The original vinyl LP released by Odin Records became an audiophile favorite. Now, the Japanese label Bomba Records has reissued it on CD. Recommended to fans of female vocals and audiophiles!
