Their astounding technique, imaginative and contemporary approach to arrangement, and eclectic tastes have captured the imagination of audiences around the world.
Newly re-released in Japan, Get Real! is a collection of their early hit songs, recorded in 1995 and 1996. Reflecting their musical diversity, the materials range from their pop originals ("A Cappella In Acapulco" for example) to pop covers (the immortal "Dancing Queen" with ABBA's Anni-Frid Lyngstad-Reuss joining as guest lead singer, and The Beatles' "Come Together" and "Strawberry Fields Forever") and tunes familiar to jazz fans. You have to keep reminding yourself that no instruments were used in these recordings.
While the album is rather pop-oriented, jazz fans will enjoy their superb, swinging rendition of Count Basie number "Flight Of The Foobirds," harmonically beautiful "Skylark" and "Body And Soul" as well as "Walkin'" a tune made famous by Miles Davis.
