Midnight Voyage is his second album to be released from Marshmallow Records in two years. For this special recording, Nagai had an unprecedented opportunity to team up with one of Europe's best rhythm sections: Jesper Bodilsen on bass and Morten Lund on drums.
The three musicians had never met before, and went into the recording studio after only one hour of rehearsal. Nagai's energetic, emotionally engaged style is perfectly complemented by the two European masters who participate in the proceedings as equal partners. Yet another example of the universal language of jazz transcending national and cultural barriers!
