Description:The Definitive Versions of Blue Note are on XRCD24... Listen & Compare!

1962 jazz album by saxophonist Dexter Gordon featuring the lineup of Sonny Clark, Butch Warren and Billy Higgins. This was the same quartet from the classic album Go!, which was recorded only days earlier. This album shows a man totally in control of his instrument and art. Gordon wrote two of the numbers recorded here, the classics-in-waiting "Soy Califa" and "McSplivens," both of which grab attention with their up-tempo beats. His tone is huge, almost as big as the man himself, who stood (towered may be a better word) six feet six inches tall. But he could swing, as demonstrated by his two contributions to this album, as well as play ballads, "Don't Explain" and "You Stepped Out of a Dream" offering ample evidence."

"I recommend these highly. If you want the best digital versions of these great Blue Note albums, grab these. In my opinion they are the best that have ever been done and probably the best that ever will be. They can't stay in print forever so don't delay!" - Steve Hoffman, Mastering Engineer

Originally released in 1964. The 24-bit super analog extended resolution compact disc (XRCD24) from JVC brings the listener higher fidelity and improved audio quality by enhancing the process of mastering and manufacturing compact discs. The XRCD24 is compatible with all CD players.
